🌐 Overview

The year 2025 marks the centenary of the first scientific works on quantum mechanics. To raise global awareness of the role and importance of quantum science in all aspects of life, the United Nations has declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.

On the occasion of World Quantum Day (April 14), the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM), in collaboration with the VNQuantum Network and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), organized a short course and workshop on Quantum Computing to celebrate this milestone.

In the same year, the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to three American scientists for their fundamental contributions to quantum physics.

🎓 About the Winter School

The Winter School on Quantum Computing is organized with the goal of raising awareness about the significance and potential of quantum science and technology in the 21st century - from fundamental research to real-world applications in quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum sensing.

This is the first specialized winter school in this field to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, marking an important step toward fostering Vietnam’s quantum education and research community.
